WHAT IS PRAYER?
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness ... It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart ... Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action.
Prayer is a direction of life, a focusing of one's most personal and deepest attention toward God. The purpose is to love God and learn to know him so well that our wills, our actions, will be more and more aligned with his, until even our subconscious reactions and purposes will have the mark of his love, his life about them. Prayer is no longer an 'activity.' It [becomes] the continuing language of that relationship God designed to fulfill a human life.
Our father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done.
On earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our debts
As we have forgiven our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power,
And the glory,
Prayer can be very important in a Christians life. Pastor Ronnie suggests starting a prayer journal. Each day write a letter to God, discussing what you have prayed about and what you may need to pray about. Keep these in a binder and review back on them often to see your progress.
What a wonderful gift this will be someday for your family members to read, and then they will know how important God was in your life!

This is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us: and if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."
(1 John 5:14-15)
Our prayer room is now ready for anyone who wishes to use it. It is next to the baptistery. If you would like to pray there anytime, please feel free to do so.
